Yes ladies and gentlemen! It's time again to put your photo skills to the test! Knaidel, the winner of last months competition came up with the following theme:
The extraordinary ordinary!
Knaidels explanation:
"instead of just snapping a picture of a regular view out your window, you'd focus or crop in on some interesting detail. Or instead of a street on your commute, you'd take people's feet from the angle of a street beggar. Anything goes as long as it makes the ordinary extraordinary"
So there you have it! Go out there and show us something we see everyday and make it extraordinary!
For more hints, ask away and I'm sure Knaidel can elaborate on the theme! I myself will be leaving for Sweden tonight and wont be back for at least 2,5-3 weeks, so I won't be of much help ;) BEHAVE!! ;)
Photos can be submitted from the 1st of February untill the 25th of February
For any additional rules please have a look at Tha rulez!
Sad but true: right after taking this photo for the Feb. contest I knocked my new S95 off this shelf and DIRECTLY INTO THE TOILET BOWL!!! I immediately toweled if off and removed the card and battery. Right now it is on my desk with battery compartment open as I hope for a miracle. :(
I took a test shot a moment ago (shown below) and for now it looks pretty bad... If anyone has any experience with water damage, tips, advice or condolences, please pass them along...or a few RIP sympathy votes, boo hoo.
Regarding the loo with the veiw, I was once out in the rain with my first digital camera- a kodak easy share. It was tucked safely in a camera bag inside my coat but some how the bag completely filled with water, I placed it so it could drip onto a thick towel atop a radiator. A week later all was as good as new and it still even takes good video. hope you have the same luck GfromKC
Here is my entry.... a small tealight candle inside its candle holder. Shot from above, hoping I wouldnt burn my lens! I like the way the light created the soft circles around the actual flame.
@GfromKC I dropped my iPod touch in the loo some weeks ago. It was deader than a door nail. Until I put it in a bowl of rice. Really submerged it in the rice. Sat it on the heater for a day and then tried to turn it back on. (It was on when I dropped it into the water and that was the bad thing. When off its not so bad, cause water conducts electricity). I must tell you, it works fine now. No problems at all. Might give it a try. Since you are in KC, finding a heater is going to be tough. Unless you have floor vents. You could sit the bowl on top of it. Ceiling vents isnt easy, lol. If all fails, put the bowl in the oven at a very very very low temperature. And dont turn the camera back on!!!! Let it sit there and dry out for at least 24 hours if not longer! Good luck!
And we have a winner! With 6 votes Babes took the win with her photo: " tea light" Congratulations! Babes now has the privilige of coming up with next months theme!
An honorary mention is also in place for johnp128 for becoming runner up with 4 votes with his photo: "Ball in the rain" Good job!
